Can Apple reject trade in? ›

Apple or Vendor may refuse, cancel, or limit the quantity of any trade-in transaction for any reason. There are no leases, contractual commitments, or other third-party interests attached to your trade-in device.

How long does Apple trade-in take? ›

Generally it takes 2–3 weeks. Your trade-in device needs to be sent to us within 14 days of receiving your new device. The sooner we receive your trade-in, the sooner we can verify its condition and process your credit or gift card. It may take 3–5 business days for your credit to be processed.

You'll receive the most money for your phone if it's in tip-top shape, but you can still do well if it's in "good" condition: No cracked screen, no big dents or scratches in the casing, no water damage and everything working well (meaning the phone turns on, holds a charge and so forth).
